SharpSchool software is used by the Discovery Educator Network (an arm of the Discovery Channel.) About the Discovery Educator Network (DEN):
- DEN is network of over 20,000 educators
- DEN enables educators from across North America to share resources, ideas and experience.

The DEN website won the 2006 award for Excellence in Technology and Learning. About this award:
- Excellence in Technology and Learning award has recognized exceptional education and technology products for more than 20 years
- SharpSchool software has enabled DEN to win the award based on the following criteria:
- quality and effectiveness
- creative use of technology
- suitability for use in an educational environment.
- The SharpSchool implementation team was thanked by DEN for its contribution in making the website an award winning tool.

The SharpSchool software is currently in use by York University’s Advanced Broadband Enabled Learning (ABEL) Project. About ABEL:
- This project is a community of over 200 schools
- ABEL enables these schools to carry out a distance learning projects.

In 2006, ABEL won two Ontario Research and Innovation Optical Network (ORION) awards. About ORION Awards:
- ORION Awards recognize the use of broadband networks in teaching
- The awards signify the usability of the website
- SharpSchool solutions have been commended for making the ABEL project a success.
